Spring is finally here and with it come thoughts of getting away to the sun and doing something a bit different.  The most westerly Balearic island is a great option for a short break, and now is the perfect time to visit. As always, Ibiza offers spectacular scenery, sun and the beauty of Mediterranean sunsets, but there is also a wealth of other things to do in Ibiza in May. Ibiza’s Medieval Market

In the second week of May, Ibiza travels back in time with the Medieval Fair and Festival in the capital’s old town, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Dalt Vila.  Visitors are transported to the Middle Ages by performances, markets, crafts and cuisine from the era, all within Dalt Vila’s fortified walls.  It’s the perfect excuse to get to know Ibiza Town, wandering Dalt Vila’s winding streets or the cosmopolitan boulevards of the New Town.  This is the weekend when the tourist season really kicks off, so make the most of this more relaxed experience before the masses arrive.  If there are already a lot of visitors in the capital, you can always hire a boat and explore the coast on the other side of the island.

More things to do in Ibiza in May: Festivals

• Ibiza Sabor 2018, the Spring Food Festival From the 6th April to 26th May, Ibiza gives itself over to culinary pleasure.  Around 54 restaurants all over the island are currently celebrating the seventh edition of the Spring Food Festival, paying homage to some of the countless gastronomic treasures of the White Isle: fish, locally-sourced produce and heavenly desserts.
• The International Music Summit (IMS) The global capital of electronic music opens the season with an internationally-renowned conference.  DJs and professionals from this musical genre will come together from the 23rd to the 25th May for the eleventh anniversary of IMS.  As well as the talks, panel discussions and networking meet-ups, this event aims to take electronic music out of the clubs and bring it to the whole of the island.  On 25th May, the Grand Finale party brings the summit to a close under the open skies of Dalt Vila.
