To enjoy the sunset or to make the most of the island’s nights, these terraces are reason enough to make the trip worthwhile.
The coves are one of Ibiza’s defining features. So is its laid-back atmosphere, a reminder of what was once the home of the hippie movement in Spain and Europe. So is its gastronomy, with that touch of Mediterranean flavor in its typical dishes that leaves no one indifferent. Or its passion for electronic music, inherited from its status as the world capital of this kind of sound…
Okay, let’s admit it: to truly know Ibiza, you have to get to know every one of its faces. But without a doubt, they’re best seen from one of its magical terraces. Whether by moonlight or in full sun, don’t leave the island without ordering a drink at one of these open-air spots.
For lunch or dinner, for a night out, for an afternoon in the sun, for an unforgettable bachelorette party… On one of Ibiza’s most famous beaches sits this terrace that has everything locals and visitors love.
It’s part of an international cocktail group with a presence in several European capitals, which shows in the menu: signature cocktails with names as evocative as the view over the Es Vedrà islet. That’s why, if you decide to try it, we recommend booking in advance, especially during the summer months.
Café del Mar is one of the best-known spots to enjoy the charm of the end of the day in Ibiza. However, it’s not the only one with these privileged views: right on the cliff opposite, in the same bay of Cala de Bou, you’ll find Kumharas, one of the most charming — and least known — terraces on the whole island.
Its main draw is the peace you feel in its chillout corners from early morning, far from the crowds of other, more packed terraces. Bohemian atmosphere, live music, and one of the best views to watch the sun set over the sea without the crowds of San Antonio’s Sunset Strip.

This is one of the island’s reference terraces, especially at night, though it can be enjoyed at any time of day from early morning. It has live music, a wide range of menus (from breakfast to dinner), and a privileged spot to enjoy the beach views as the area’s atmosphere heats up.
Playa d’en Bossa is also one of the most photographed beaches on the island on social media. You can’t leave without that photo.
This spot, located in San Antonio Bay, has fixed hours built especially around the sunset, which they announce daily so you have time to book a spot. For everything else — eating, cooling off, and dancing — you can visit at any time of day, from early morning until well into the night.
Its elevated location, above Marina Playa, gives it a different perspective from the rest of the Sunset Strip terraces: the view takes in the whole bay, not just the horizon.
With decades of history behind it, Café Mambo is one of the venues that built San Antonio’s reputation as the world capital of sunset. Located right on the Sunset Strip, it combines parties and special events, Mediterranean food, and a privileged spot facing the sea, with residencies from some of the most important DJs on the international scene.
It’s also a regular stop before a night out: those looking to extend the evening often pair the terrace with a great dinner at one of the island’s best restaurants before continuing the night.

Many of these terraces —especially Kumharas and Experimental Beach— are far apart by road, and during high season traffic can turn the drive into the least enjoyable part of the plan. Renting a boat without a license is an increasingly popular alternative for those who want to link several coves and terraces in a single day, without depending on roads or schedules.
With this selection of trendy terraces in Ibiza, you now have plenty of reasons to toast the island from any of its open-air corners, whatever time of day you choose.
